What size should my backing be?

Here's an easy way to remember: 8 is great! I require the backing to be 8 inches longer AND wider than your quilt top. This means 4" extra ON ALL SIDES. For example, if you have a quilt top that is 60" x 80", your backing should measure at least 68" x 88". It can be bigger, not smaller. If you need to piece your backing, a single horizontal seam is preferred. Extra fees may apply if I need to put extra time and effort into getting your quilt ready to load. If you have questions, please ask.
I'm passionate about being able to give you results you will love. Teamwork! :)

TIDY IT UP!

Please press your top and backing for me so that it's nice and tidy and ready for me to load. Please also clip stray threads or raveling fabrics as best as you can. You might not be able to get them all, but this helps prevent dark threads from shadowing through your quilt top. Please don't skip this important step! Mark the top of your quilt top with a safety pin or clip. If your backing is also directional, please mark the top.

READY, SET, STITCH!

BAG PANELS AND FOAM:
Did you know I can quilt right on foam or soft and stable? This is my favorite way to elevate bag projects!

Bag Panel Prep:
I still need fabric overage to load the bag panel on the longarm frame. I suggest this be your 'lining' fabric and measure 8 inches longer AND wider than your foam. If your pattern calls for a drop in lining, I can quilt just the exterior to the foam if you leave the foam larger than your exterior fabric. If you have any questions about bag panels, just ask!
